If Jesus gave his disciples the Holy Spirit in Jn 20:22, why did they receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost again?

According to Old Testament references, regarding kings and priests, and those in Acts, regarding the kingdom believers, the Holy Spirit can UPON them, to empower them for their purpose or function at that time. The Holy Spirit did not reside permanently WITHIN them. David wrote in Ps 51:11-12 that the Lord take not His Spirit from David. In 1Sa 16:14 the Spirit of the Lord left king Saul. In Act 1:8 it is written that the Holy Spirit came upon them, for the ‘short work’ that the Lord would do at that time, Rom 9:28. Also, in Act 4:31, the believers prayed for boldness and were again filled with the Holy Spirit.

It is only when the promise of the New Covenant blessing comes, at the second coming of Jesus, when the Spirit will be placed WITHIN the Kingdom believer as prophesied in Ezekiel.

Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put WITHIN you:
