Seven Basic Bible Facts Every Person Should Know and Believe (Fact #5)

Image
FACT NO. 5 —That we must understand the two-fold ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. During His earthly ministry He ministered exclusively to Israel: “But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL” (Matt.15:24). His whole ministry to the Nation was under the Law of Moses (Matt.5:17; Gal.4:4-5). Christians are not under the Law, so we are not to live according to Israel’s teachings. During His present ministry in Heaven, He is ministering according to what He revealed to the Apostle Paul. He is saving men according to His gospel of Grace. He is at the throne of grace making intercession for us (Rom.8:34). We are to live in and apply Paul’s epistles where our doctrine is found. This is not to say we should neglect the rest of the Bible. It is ALL for us but not all TO us (1Cor.10:6,11). More FACTS to follow... Seven Basic Bible Facts Every Person Should Know and Believe (Fact #1)

Image
FACT NO. 1—That the Bible MUST be rightly divided in order for it to make sense. Notice what it says: “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the Word of truth” (II Tim. 2:15). This is one of the cardinal rules for interpreting the whole Bible. Neglect of this rule or a faulty use of it will lead to only one result, CONFUSION, since our God is not the author of confusion. The reason for a right division of the Bible is because of God’s two distinct purposes: (1) His purpose concerning Israel and the world according to PROPHECY, and (2) His purpose concerning the Gentiles in this present age according to the MYSTERY revealed to Paul. God doesn’t want us to confuse the teaching of these two purposes. He has very graciously given us the key for a proper understanding of this. More FACTS to follow... The sad state of biblical ignorance in the world today

Image
A BEAUTIFUL SOCIAL MEDIA STATEMENT: The gospel tells us that we must believe that Jesus died for our sins. The actual process of salvation is performed by the Holy Spirit which includes the Word of God renewing our mind and bringing us to obedience of Christ. So, it truly is good news. SOMEONE’S RESPONSE: Ridiculous! Show me a verse that says that!! MY REPLY: The bible tells us to study it line upon line, here a little, and there a little, Isaiah 28:10. No one verse is going to divulge the entire salvation process which involves justification, sanctification and glorification. Thus, one has to read the Bible and learn these things as the verses, throughout many pages, connect and confirm each other. I can give you a starting point by referring you to 1Cor.15:1–4 and Eph.2:8–9. Then, from these verses, allow the scripture to lead you into more cross-references and it will start to build a clear picture of the process of salvation in Paul’s epistles. ______________ Please share these wit...

Why is it difficult to read the Bible?

Image
The majority of Christians seem content in knowing just the basics of the Bible. Most of their knowledge is gained from listening to preachers, not reading the Bible for themselves. Interestingly, Bible skeptics are willing to read the Bible because their true motive is to “catch [God] in His words” Mk.12:13, “that they might accuse Him” Matt.12:10. Yet, compared to the minority of committed Bible students who find the deep truths of the Bible, these “self-confident” skeptics are ultimately blind to the truth and ignorant in spiritual understanding, 1Cor.2:14! Why is the Bible difficult to read? Why do Christians rarely read it? Why do skeptics hate the pure words of God? The problem is not with the King James Bible. The problem is with the heart of man. The Bible discerns his heart and motives, Heb.4:12. Reading scripture is like a mirror that reflects back his true image! Its only when 'self' dies, and Christ lives in us that the Bible makes sense and becomes a joy to stud...

The Bible should be understood, not used as a 'pick your favourite verse collection'

Image
Among Christians, there are those who aren't too concerned with what they read in the Bible, as long as it touches their hearts. For them, the Bible is like a 'pick your favourite verse collection', choosing only parts that appeal to them and ignoring the rest. This is not how the Bible should be read or treated. Although the Bible teaches many truths that we can readily accept, we cannot truly comprehend its message unless we study it as a whole. True faith seeks to continually deepen its understanding of God's Word. A person who isn't seeking to understand God's Word isn't truly interested in what God has to say. Such a person's faith is founded on personal preference rather than on truth, choosing any scripture that appeals to them and interpreting it as they please. Such "spirituality" is not authentic, and such "faith" can be considered blind, superstitious, and even dangerous. God desires that we intelligently believe what we...

Thy Word is VERY pure.

Image
It is my absolute conviction that the Authorized KJV (1611) is the seven-times purified Word of God in the English language. Its words are inerrant, infallible, and God-inspired. It is unmatched and unrivalled in literary history and cannot be compared to the tainted modern versions of today, influenced by the imagination of men and their greed. So, consider this. Every time a preacher stands up and concerning the word of God, says, “now a better way of saying this is …”, he is acknowledging that he does not hold the Word of God. Isn’t that true? If he thinks that what he holds is corrupt, and that he should change the way it says things, then he confesses that he doesn't believe the truth and perfection of the Word of God. Friends, we truly need to respect the words in this book. They are already pure! We cannot improve or change them. They are a record of God’s righteousness, justice, truth, and power. These words contain the Spirit of His Son and are either our salvation or con...

The Source for Spiritual Salvation and Sanity

Image
Do you want to know how to go to Heaven, stop reading tracts and books written by men and start to read what God has written and preserved for you in the Bible, especially the Book of Romans. The first two chapters of this book starts with a hard truth as it tells us about how all people, whether Jew or Gentile, are condemned because of their sins. However, the next three chapters then proceed to explain the grace of God, and how He imputes righteousness to those who choose to have faith in Jesus Christ and believe that He died for their sins, was buried, and rose again, cf. 1 Cor 15:31-4. We don't go to Heaven by trying to follow rules and regulations, which we break constantly anyway because we can never do it perfectly. It is all about God's grace and what He has already done for us through the cross work of Christ. If we are unsure about our eternal destiny, we should read Romans chapters 1-5, and believe them as the words spoken by God Himself. ______________ Join my Whats...

The Bible is the ONLY source of truth!

Image
All other materials are interpretations of that truth. Some interpretations might be accurate, some might not, some might be biased and become false teachings. It becomes important to weigh up the material with the Bible and eliminate content that disregards scripture or that clearly misinterprets scripture.  A rule of thumb is that "scripture must interpret scripture"; in other words, a fact must be accurately confirmed by multiple other scriptures. If a fact is based on only one verse and clearly disregards or violates other scriptures, that fact is probably an opinion or a false (or biased) interpretation by the author. It is imperative that one keeps this in mind as you read, study, and apply what you've learned into your life or writings or teachings.
