About TBP

THE BIG PICTURE is a site that promotes the proper context of scripture according to the biblical timeline (mentioned in Eph. 2). By means of information, teachings and articles, my aim is to inspire you to investigate the scripture for yourself to find truth and context in the scriptures, in view of the timeline (displayed above). Simply put, all scripture should be evaluated by the following conditions, --when was it written, --to whom it is addressed and --under which economy (eg: law, grace) it is based. This site will make this clear as it will use the timeline as a basis upon which we discover the meaning and context of the verse or passage of scripture in focus.

All scripture fits together (like a puzzle) to create a BIG PICTURE of God's redemption plan for creation. I want to help you discover the wisdom of God's plan, His grace, His salvation, and the Glory of Christ in it all.

God bless.

About the Timeline

Have a look at the timeline at the top of the page when you review the next few headings. You will see the progression in the plan of God and how each part fits together to form the BIG picture.

Hosea 6:1-2  Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days [2000-year prophetic period] will he revive us: in the third day [1000-year millennial kingdom] he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Age of Antiquity

In the first 2000-years, humanity lived by conscience and could be saved under God's instruction to walk by conscience and sacrifice an animal if they sinned, (Gen.3:15,21). Due to the ravages of sin however, men forgot about God and His instruction (Rom.1:18-21), so He opened a new dispensation.

Time Past

The next 2000-years belonged to Israel. God saved Abram and from him created the Jewish nation who would become His vehicle of blessing to the Gentiles. due to unbelief, Israel failed in their purpose and God blinded them temporarily until the time of the end.

But Now

During the transition period of ACTS, God saved Saul (Paul) and sent him to the Gentiles, as the Apostle to the Gentiles, with a new gospel, a new doctrine of grace and mysteries, to call out the Body of Christ for His heavenly purposes. This dispensation of grace has been in effect for the last 2000-years and is soon to be competed with a great 'catching away".

Ages to Come

The 'ages to come' is a period of time that involves the 7-year tribulation of God's wrath and judgement on humanity. This is followed by the second coming of Jesus Christ to set up His 1000-year (millennial) kingdom on earth where He will reign supreme as King and Lord over a refreshed and restored world. This period will end with the dispensation of the fulness of the times, for eternity in Gods presence.

Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him:
