John.1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This verse establishes the absolute deity and pre-existence of Jesus Christ. Before anything was created, the Word already existed in perfect fellowship with the Father. He is not a created being, nor did He become God at some point in time; He has always been God. When we look at scripture through a rightly divided lens, we recognise that the One who later walked the earth to offer the Kingdom to Israel is the very same eternal Creator. This same Saviour accomplished our redemption on the cross, as revealed in the gospel of grace. Understanding His eternal nature gives us complete assurance. The work of salvation is secure because it was accomplished by God Himself in human flesh.
