(Rom.10:4) Today's Lesson Paul opens Romans 10 by expressing his heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel's salvation. He bears witness that national Israel possessed a genuine zeal for God, but it was a zeal not according to knowledge. Israel's fundamental error lay in their ignorance of God's righteousness. Because they failed to understand that divine righteousness is provided exclusively through faith, they went about to establish their own righteousness through legal observance and human effort. In doing so, they refused to submit themselves unto the righteousness of God. This passage marks a vital dispensational boundary for the believer today.
