Romans 9 (Part 1): Israel's Privileges and National Setting

As the apostle of the Gentiles, Paul expresses heavy sorrow for his kinsmen according to the flesh, but he carefully distinguishes Israel's specific administrative program from the present dispensation of grace. In verses 4 and 5, Paul lists the unique spiritual assets committed exclusively to Israel: the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the law, the sanctuary service, the promises, the fathers, and the human lineage of Christ Himself.
