Holiness in Christ Jesus
Can an ordinary believer really be called holy?
📖 Key Verse (KJV):
"Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours." — 1 Corinthians 1:2
📚 Today's Lesson:
Paul writes to believers in Corinth, a city famous for its sin, and calls them a holy church. The gathering was messy, yet Paul grounds their identity in Christ, not their surroundings. He says they are "sanctified in Christ Jesus," set apart by God, and "called to be saints." This is not a title earned but a standing given. Holiness begins with position before it becomes practice. Because God has set you apart in Christ, your daily choices can now match your calling rather than chase it.
📌 Reflection:
Do I see myself as God's sanctified saint, or does my past still define me?
🌟 Practical Takeaway:
Your calling is not based on the city you live in or the labels you carry, but on Christ who set you apart. Let that truth steady you today. Since God calls you a saint, live like one. Take one step today by naming one habit that doesn't fit your new identity and, in prayer, handing it over to God before you act on it again.
