If a man seeks to be justified by the law, he must keep all of it. Scripture does not permit selective obedience:
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” — James 2:10
“Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” — Galatians 3:10
“I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.” — Galatians 5:3
The Law Was Made for the Unrighteous
The law was not designed for the righteous, but to expose and restrain sin:
“Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners…” — 1 Timothy 1:9
The law reveals sin, but it cannot remove it. It condemns, but cannot justify.
We Are Not Under Law, But Under Grace
Through Christ, we are freed from the law’s condemnation—not to sin freely, but to live freely from sin:
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” — Romans 6:14
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” — Romans 6:15
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” — Romans 10:4
Grace Empowers Holiness
Grace is not a license to sin—it is the power to overcome it. Christ fulfilled the law for us, and now His Spirit enables us to walk in righteousness:
“That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” — Romans 8:4
“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” — Galatians 5:18
“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” — Romans 6:18
Let Love Be the Fruit of Grace
We now serve God not by the letter, but by the Spirit—through love, which fulfills the law:
“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” — Galatians 5:14
Summary & Encouragement
The law exposes sin but cannot cleanse it. It demands flawless obedience—every command, without fail. To seek righteousness by the law is to place oneself under a curse. But Christ, full of grace and truth, fulfilled the law for us, liberating us from its condemnation. Through Him, we’re not only freed from sin’s penalty, but empowered to walk in the Spirit, bearing fruit that reflects God’s love and righteousness.
This message is not just theological—it’s transformational. Let it release you from the pressure to perform for God's approval, and anchor your heart in Christ’s finished work. Let it restore your joy, recalibrate your faith, and reignite your love for the Lord and His people.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” — Galatians 5:1
