Seven Basic Bible Facts Every Person Should Know and Believe (Fact #3)

Image
FACT NO. 3 —That the gospel we are to preach is called the Gospel of the grace of God. “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify THE GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD” (Acts 20:24). This is God’s only message for the lost in this present age. We are to follow Paul as he followed Christ (I Cor. 11:1). In his writings ALONE do we find the doctrine, position, walk, and destiny of the Christian. Some other important aspects of grace are: 1. We are saved by GRACE—Eph. 2:8,9. 2. We are justified freely by His GRACE—Rom. 3:24; Titus 3:7. 3. His GRACE is sufficient for us—II Cor. 12:9. 4. We are not under Law but under GRACE—Rom. 6:14,15. 5. This age is the age of GRACE —Eph. 3:2. 6. We are to approach the throne of GRACE in prayer—Heb. 4:16. More FACTS to follow... See this article for even more rightly dividing differences By Robert C. Seven Basic Bible Facts Every Person Should Know and Believe (Fact #2)

FACT NO. 2 —That the DISTINCTIVENESS of Pauline truth is a most important doctrine of the Bible. The risen Lord Jesus Christ revealed His heart and His mind to the Apostle Paul: “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it but by THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST” (Gal. 1:11,12). “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward; how that BY REVELATION He made known unto me the MYSTERY…” (Eph. 3:2,3). This proves conclusively that Paul did not preach what the 12 Apostles preached. Rather he went up to Jerusalem to TELL THEM of the special gospel of grace that Christ gave to him (Gal. 2:2). He preached Jesus Christ according to the REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY which was kept secret, hid in God (Rom. 16:25; Eph. 3:9). He was the Apostle to the Gentiles and magnified his office (Rom. 11:13). Seven Basic Bible Facts Every Person Should Know and Believe (Fact #1)

FACT NO. 1—That the Bible MUST be rightly divided in order for it to make sense. Notice what it says: “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the Word of truth” (II Tim. 2:15). This is one of the cardinal rules for interpreting the whole Bible. Neglect of this rule or a faulty use of it will lead to only one result, CONFUSION, since our God is not the author of confusion. The reason for a right division of the Bible is because of God’s two distinct purposes: (1) His purpose concerning Israel and the world according to PROPHECY, and (2) His purpose concerning the Gentiles in this present age according to the MYSTERY revealed to Paul. God doesn’t want us to confuse the teaching of these two purposes. He has very graciously given us the key for a proper understanding of this. More FACTS to follow... Yield (Newness of life and spirit)

Image
It cannot be clearer that our transformation in sanctification is connected to the mind. It is a process of learning and adopting a new doctrine, increasing in its knowledge and understanding and becoming more and more influenced by it in our lives.  … even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Rom.6:4)  … that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter (Rom.7:6) Notice the word, ‘should’ . Is this a choice (or optional ) instead of a command like ‘must’? These two references are dependent on each other. We cannot walk in newness of life (an outward expression of Christ) if we are not renewed of the spirit, (small ‘s’…the written word, Jn.6:63). Conversely, being renewed of the spirit results ultimately in walking in newness of life. ______________ Please share these with friends and family. Chosen before the foundation of the world

Image
God’s entire redemption plan was determined long before the world was made. God knows the end from the beginning as we read in Isaiah 46:10. However, it is interesting how we can distinguish our grace doctrine from other dispensations based on what was prophesied versus what was kept secret. God revealed relevant parts of the plan systematically and slowly through dispensations. The majority of the plan to restore the earth was revealed through the prophets and unto Israel. Israel will be used to bring earth back in subjection under Christ in the Millennial Kingdom. The rest of the plan was kept secret by God and revealed in the perfect time to our apostle, Paul, who wrote the remaining details of God’s plan to restore the heavens under Christ through the agency of the Body of Christ. As we study the bible and learn God's will for us, we need to recognize these two programs and ensure we adhere to the principles of our doctrine, the mystery program, as written in Paul's 13-epis...

Learn the distinct differences between THEREFORE and WHEREFORE in the KJV

Image
Therefore Acts as a conclusion or a result of what has been previously stated. It points back to the preceding content, summarizing or drawing a conclusion from it. "Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom.5:1). "Therefore" connects the previous discussion about faith and justification in Romans chp. 1 to 4 to the resulting peace with God. Wherefore Acts as an introduction to new content or reasoning based on what has been previously mentioned. It often introduces a reason or explanation in what follows. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: " (Rom.5:12). "Wherefore" introduces new instructions based on the preceding context. "Therefore" typically points back to summarize or conclude, while "wherefore" introduces new content or reasoning based on what was previously discussed. ...

Justification word stats prove a point in Paul's epistles

Image
Romans 5 is a transitional chapter, moving us out of Romans 1 to 4, concerning justification, and into Romans 6 to 8, which leads us into the beginning of sanctification.  Word statistics in the KJV confirms this fact because if you search for all variants of justification, there are 29 entries total in Paul's epistles. Out of those 29, 25 are in Romans and Galatians, and 4 entries in his other epistles. In Romans, 15 of the 17 matches are in chapters 1 to 5 and 2 in Romans 8. There are 8 in Galatians, because this letter is to do with correcting wayward understanding of salvation: see Gal.3:2-3.  My point is that we are educated in the understanding of justification in Romans, and then corrected in its practice in Galatians. So, barring these two books, Paul never teaches directly about justification again, because a believer, even by the end of Romans 5, should have settled on the truth of justification and moved past this serving of 'milk', into 'meatier' truths ...
