Rom.5: Redeeming Our Present Hardships (Part 3 of 4)

Rom.5:3 “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also knowing that tribulation worketh patience;”

Suffering, sickness, and hardships are a constant, unpleasant reality in this cursed world. Believers are not immune to these difficult trials, but we handle them differently from the world. While others curse God, we possess an unshakeable expectation that completely redefines our present circumstances. These heavy burdens are merely fleeting moments compared to the eternity our Saviour has secured for us. Our glorious future inheritance infuses us with real comfort and joy right here in the midst of today's pain. We must never lose faith in who we are and what we possess in Christ. This doctrinal reality must grow deep within our hearts until it completely exceeds what our physical senses tell us. Trials are not eternal, but the spiritual riches we already stand in far outweigh every present trouble.

Learning Point:

Our future hope provides present comfort during worldly trials, grounding our faith in eternal riches that far outweigh temporary suffering.

Cross-Reference:

Rom.15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
