Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
During the Gospels and Acts, Jews had to sell all they had and give the proceeds to the church. This demonstrated faith; that they would have ALL things when the Millennial Kingdom came. In the Kingdom they would be blessed and receive the wealth of the Gentile nations. Selling all they had was a small price for what they'd receive in the Kingdom.
This verse can also apply to us, but in a different way. We don't have the promise of an earthly kingdom and physical blessings, but we can receive it spiritually. It is good to seek the things of God, spend time in the Word and be led by the Spirit. We have confidence in all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, but we don't inherit Israel's kingdom promises where all physical things will be added to us. Our inheritance is spiritual.
Matt 6:33 must be understood from Israel's Kingdom program. We seek our blessings in Paul's epistles.
