"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom.12:2)

Today's Lesson

Living out our faith in a practical way requires a deliberate decision to resist the pressures of the culture around us. Paul instructs us not to allow the world to shape our thinking or dictate our standards. It is easy to slide into the mindsets, anxieties, and priorities that govern everyday society. However, the grace of God offers a far better way, working a genuine change from within.

This transformation occurs as our minds are steadily renewed by God's truth. Real spiritual growth is not achieved through self-effort, strict external rules, or worked-up emotion. Instead, as we anchor our minds in the rightly divided word of God, our perspective is restored. Scripture dismantles old habits of thought, grounding our confidence in who we are in Christ.

As our thinking aligns with biblical truth, we gain the clarity needed to recognise and follow God's will. Discerning His desire for our lives is not a mystery or a complex puzzle. It is simply the practical outcome of trusting what He has revealed. A renewed mind allows us to make sound, faithful choices that bring honour to God in our daily lives.

🌱 Application

Living with a renewed mind reshapes how we evaluate everyday decisions, conversations, and priorities. When surrounded by workplace chatter or social media trends that promote self-exaltation, anxiety, or cynicism, we consciously choose not to absorb those mindsets. Instead, we anchor our thoughts in the clear doctrine of God's word, viewing every situation through the lens of our secure identity in Christ. For example, when faced with a difficult career choice or financial decision, rather than yielding to panic or worldly ambition, we pause to filter our options through biblical principles. By trusting God's written truth over human reasoning, we step forward in peace, demonstrating His good and acceptable will in our practical choices.

Chosen before the foundation of the world

God’s entire redemption plan was determined long before the world was made. God knows the end from the beginning as we read in Isaiah 46:10. However, it is interesting how we can distinguish our grace doctrine from other dispensations based on what was prophesied versus what was kept secret. God revealed relevant parts of the plan systematically and slowly through dispensations. The majority of the plan to restore the earth was revealed through the prophets and unto Israel. Israel will be used to bring earth back in subjection under Christ in the Millennial Kingdom. The rest of the plan was kept secret by God and revealed in the perfect time to our apostle, Paul, who wrote the remaining details of God’s plan to restore the heavens under Christ through the agency of the Body of Christ. That in me FIRST

1 Tim.1:15-16 ... that in me first ... The key word here is 'FIRST'. First in what? —Salvation of course! But how could this be since God had shown mercy to save many others before Paul? Paul was certainly not the first person to ever be saved! No, but we must understand that Paul's conversion started a brand new 'mystery' program, the program of grace, and he was the first to be saved into this new program. Paul is the first member immersed into the Body of Christ. He was divinely selected by the risen Christ to become the apostle to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15; Gal.1:1). Christ would reveal to him the secrets of this new dispensation (Eph.3:1-5) and provide him the gospel of grace (Gal.1:11-12).
