"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Rom.12:1)

Recap Reminder
We finish our journey through Romans by looking at chapters 9 through 16. In these chapters, Paul answers the difficult question about Israel. We learned that God is entirely sovereign. His promises to Israel have not failed, but He has temporarily paused His national dealings with them to extend mercy to the Gentiles. This is the revelation of the mystery. We saw that God has the right to show mercy on whom He will. But then, having established this deep doctrine, Paul shifts to our practical response. Because of all these mercies, we are called to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, not conformed to this world. We learned to walk in genuine love, to be subject to higher powers, and to bear with one another in grace. The entire epistle ends with a focus on the obedience of faith and the establishment of the saints.

🌱 Practical Action
Because of everything God has done for us in the first eleven chapters, we are called to a practical response. Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. This means your daily routine, your work, and your interactions are acts of worship. Tomorrow morning, before you open your phone or start your tasks, take a moment to consciously offer your day to God. Let your mind be renewed by His Word instead of conformed to the pressure around you. It is not about trying to earn His love; it is about living out the reality of a life already transformed by His mercy.

Chosen before the foundation of the world

God’s entire redemption plan was determined long before the world was made. God knows the end from the beginning as we read in Isaiah 46:10. However, it is interesting how we can distinguish our grace doctrine from other dispensations based on what was prophesied versus what was kept secret. God revealed relevant parts of the plan systematically and slowly through dispensations. The majority of the plan to restore the earth was revealed through the prophets and unto Israel. Israel will be used to bring earth back in subjection under Christ in the Millennial Kingdom. The Weaker Brother Isn’t Who You Think He Is

It’s not always obvious. The weaker brother isn’t the one who skips church or struggles with prayer. He’s often the one who looks the most committed. He avoids meat, steers clear of certain days, and holds tight to rules that make him feel holy. He’s sincere. He’s serious. And in his own mind, he’s strong. But Paul says otherwise.
