Romans 1 (Part 2): The Revelation of God's Wrath

Part 2 of 3 • ⏱️ 2-Min Read Passage: Rom.1:18-23 Scripture Focus: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;" (Rom.1:18) Today's Lesson The passage shifts directly to the universal condemnation of mankind under the righteous judgment of God. Paul declares that God's wrath is actively revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness, specifically targeting those who hold back or suppress the truth. God has not left humanity without a witness; that which may be known of Him is clearly manifest to all. From the very creation of the world, His invisible attributes, eternal power, and divine nature are clearly seen through the observed creation. Consequently, no person can offer a valid excuse for unbelief. The root of human condemnation lies in the conscious refusal to honour God or render thanksgiving to Him. When men turn away from known truth, their internal reasoning be...

Romans 1 (Part 1): The Gospel of God and His Power

Part 1 of 3 • ⏱️ 2-Min Read Passage: Rom.1:1-17 Scripture Focus: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Rom.1:16) Today’s Lesson The opening of Romans sets forth the distinct character and divine authority of the gospel of God. Paul identifies himself as a servant and a called apostle, separated unto a message promised afore by the prophets concerning Jesus Christ our Lord. This foundational truth establishes that salvation rests entirely upon the person and completed work of Christ—His resurrection declaring Him to be the Son of God with power. In this present dispensation of grace, the gospel operates as the absolute power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. It does not demand legalistic performance or ceremonial observance; rather, God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith. The believer stands fully justified not through human merit...

Justified by Grace, Blood, and Faith: The Complete Gospel Work

When standing before a holy God, eternal standing rests entirely on a complete work. Scripture lays out the foundation of salvation with crystal clarity, dividing it into three distinct elements that secure peace with the Father. The foundation begins with God's part , which is grace. Before anyone could reach toward heaven, God initiated the plan of redemption. "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" (Rom.3:24). This unmerited favor is the original source of salvation, extended to guilty sinners without cost or cause on their end. The payment comes through Christ's part , which is His blood. Divine justice demanded a perfect sacrifice, and Jesus fulfilled that demand entirely on the cross. "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Rom.5:9). Through this ultimate sacrifice, propitiation was fully made, satisfying the righteousness of God once for all. Both of t...

Settled in Truth: Anchored by Every Word

"Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it." — Ps.119:140 "I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way." — Ps.119:128 "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever." — Ps.119:160 In a world filled with changing opinions and shifting standard practices, where can a believer find solid ground? The Psalmist points us straight to the answer: God's word. It is not merely a collection of good advice—it is completely pure, refined, and completely without flaw. From the very first phrase in Genesis to the final page of Revelation, every statement stands as absolute truth. When we value His word, we do not pick and choose what fits our preferences. We hold every precept to be entirely right. This total confidence changes how we walk each day. When Christ prayed for us, He asked the Father to sanctify us through truth, confirming that His word is truth. K...

The Leaking Jar

Elias carried water each morning in a clay jar, cracked from years of use. He often felt embarrassed by its flaws, wishing he had a stronger vessel. Yet as he walked the dusty path, water dripped steadily from the crack. One day, a neighbour pointed out the flowers lining Elias’s route — bright blossoms that had sprung up where the water fell. What Elias saw as waste had become life for others. His broken jar had quietly nourished the ground, leaving beauty behind. That evening, Elias remembered Paul’s words: “We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” He realized the jar was a picture of himself. Fragile, imperfect, yet carrying the treasure of Christ. And when Christ “leaked” through his weakness — in kindness, in patience, in testimony — others were refreshed and blessed, just like the flowers.  Lesson: Our cracks are not failures; they are openings through which Christ flows. When His life leaks out of us, oth...

Forgiveness: Kingdom vs Grace

[Matt.6:14-15]: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” In Christ’s earthly ministry to Israel, forgiveness was conditional. Under the Kingdom programme, the Jew was required to forgive others in order to receive forgiveness from the Father. This was covenantal law, tied to Israel’s obedience and preparation for the promised kingdom. But Paul reveals a mystery for the Body of Christ: forgiveness today is not conditional, nor earned by our actions. It is a settled reality, secured by the finished work of the cross. [Eph.4:32]: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” [Col.2:13]: “And you, being dead in your sins… hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.” In Grace, forgiveness is complete and eternal. We do not forgive to be forgiven; we for...

Sweeter Than Honey: God’s Word That Sticks

Psalm 119:103 — “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth.” Commentary Honey clings, lingers, and sweetens everything it touches. In the same way, God’s Word is meant to cling to our hearts, linger in our minds, and sweeten our speech. Just as honey was a sign of abundance in the Promised Land ( Exodus 3:8 ), Scripture is the believer’s daily provision. It nourishes the soul, strengthens faith, and brings joy even in bitter seasons. Pleasant words shaped by God’s truth are “as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones” ( Proverbs 16:24 ). The sweetness of the Word is not fleeting; it endures, transforming bitterness into hope and weakness into strength. Learning Point God’s Word is not only truth — it is delight. Let it stick to your heart, linger in your spirit, and sweeten your life with grace. Cross-Reference: Proverbs 24:13 — “My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste.” Reflective B...
